LSU loses Scott for regular season
LSU running back Charles Scott broke his collarbone against Alabama on Saturday and is lost for the remainder of the regular season, the school announced on Sunday night.
Scott, a senior, might be able to return for a bowl game.
He rushed for 83 yards on 13 carries, but the Tigers (No. 8 BCS, No. 9 AP) lost to the Crimson Tide (No. 2 BCS, No. 3 AP).
The hard-hitting affair left the Tigers (7-2, 4-2) without Scott and injured quarterback Jordan Jefferson for most of the second half.
On Jefferson, LSU coach Miles said on Saturday that the quarterback was “trying to get back in the game. We felt like it would be best that he sit.”
Wide receiver Terrance Toliver said Saturday: “Losing those two guys was a big blow to our offense.”
