Leon Berry surveyed the dinner offerings at the cafeteria a few nights ago and wasn’t impressed. So the Mississippi State junior receiver looked at his quarterback, Tyson Lee, and told him to come to his house.
Two hours later, steaks were served.
“(Lee) took the first bite and he was like ‘Man, Leon, I didn’t know you cooked that good,'” Berry recalls. “I was like ‘Yeah, I do a little something.'”
It was a simple ribeye, but it was more than just that. For a junior college transfer like Leon Berry, who has emerged as a go-to threat for Mississippi State (2-2) heading into Saturday’s game against No. 25 Georgia Tech (3-1), it went beyond a simple grilled steak.
