A Sunshine State Revival
It’s been almost a decade since all three Florida football powers – Florida, Florida State and Miami – were all humming at full speed at the same time. But after the Gators have all but run the state in recent years, early signs suggest the Seminoles and especially the Hurricanes are getting back to their old selves.
Top-ranked Florida was actually the least impressive of the three this weekend, and the Gators beat Tennessee 23-13 for their 13th straight victory by double digits. Miami and FSU each routed respected opponents – the Hurricanes over then-No. 14 Georgia Tech and FSU over then-No. 7 Brigham Young – compelling us to reassess the state of the Sunshine State.
