College football ramblings from the Sports Think Tank
9/15/9

Wow, what a great weekend for college football. Upsets, big-boy plays and drama…you
gotta love it.

Yallsports.com gameballs:
Michagan: Tate Forcier should be dating the hottest girl on campus by today at the latest.
UGA: Big victory after giving 1 away in Stillwater. You can’t count Richt out.
USC: Carroll is the best. Barkley will be special.
Auburn: Malzahn is the real deal. Chizik hit the jackpot on both coordinators.

MState fans are scrambling this week. All summer long (Kid Rock?) MState fans looked me
in the eye and told me they could see 5 maybe 6 wins. OOB didn’t believe it, and now, MState
will be lucky to win 3 games. It’s not Dan Mullen’s fault. Sly Croom literally left Mullen next to
nothing – talent wise. Unfortunately, MSU alums are looking at another rebuilding project after 7 of 8
losing seasons.

Mullen gets “it”. He’ll recruit a good QB, and enough speed to compete in the SEC. MState’s goal should be
win 5-7 games per year for 5 years and build from there. At some point, Mullen and crew will land a special
class, that as seniors, has a chance to win 7-9 games. Realistically, MState just needs to avoid 3-4 win seasons
at all costs. With one of the toughest schedules in college football, MState is looking at a long, tough season.

Coaches on the hot seat:
Dan “The Hawk” Hawkins: Losing to Toledo after laying an egg to Colorado State = calling a real estate agent.
Al Groh: UVA deserves better than this.
Jimbo Fisher: I’m not sold that he’ll be the guy. FSUs schedule is brutal. They’ll need to step it up to win 7.

UT v. Florida

Lane Kiffin will be welcomed to the SEC this week. Kiffin will realize he’s not in Kansas (I mean the Pac-10) anymore.
Urban and Tebow will name their score in Gainesville this weekend.
