STARKVILLE — Marcus Green thinks the tight end position in Mississippi State’s new spread offense is, in his words, “kind of like a secret weapon.”
Some secret, Marcus.
In last week’s season opener and debut of coach Dan Mullen’s new offensive scheme, Green caught three passes for 40 yards and a touchdown. That equaled tailback Arnil Stallworth for most catches on the team – and it was more passes than any of State’s receivers caught, including freshman phenom Chad Bumphis and last year’s leading receiver Brandon McRae.
