Stoops: Punting into scoreboard would be a ‘plus’
NORMAN, Okla. (AP) – Oklahoma coach Bob Stoops is taking a unique stance on the controversy involving punts hitting a massive scoreboard in the Dallas Cowboys’ new billion-dollar stadium.
The third-ranked Sooners will play their season opener Sept. 5 at the stadium against No. 20 BYU.
Stoops said after practice Monday that it would be a “plus” if punter Tress Way were to hit the scoreboard, simply because that means he’d be “hitting it like you want to.”
