outhern Miss coach Larry Fedora still isn’t ready to say whether offensive starters DeAndre Brown and Damion Fletcher will be in the lineup for the season opener against Alcorn State.

“The day of the game we’ll probably make those decisions,” Fedora said during the Conference USA teleconference Monday.

Brown, the team’s leading receiver, has a doctor’s appointment Monday evening and Fedora said he’d know more about Brown’s health then. Brown has been practicing, but he has yet to play full-contact. Fletcher, the team’s all-time leading rusher, has told Fedora that he’s about 95 percent, but Fletcher has yet to go full-speed in practice.

Fedora said he wouldn’t hesitate to keep both players out of the season opener to give them an extra week of rest leading up to the conference opener against Central Florida on Sept. 12.
