Logan Hickman played with a distinct disadvantage during the 2008 football season when he lined up at defensive tackle for Southern Miss.

At 6-foot-3 and 240 pounds, the Gulf Shores native was giving up anywhere from 50 to 60 pounds to the offensive tackle across the line of scrimmage every week, but that didn’t prevent Hickman from being productive.

Hickman appeared in all 13 games of USM’s 7-6 season, earning five starts. This year, he will have some help when he goes into his three- point stance because he now tips the scales at 270 pounds.
