In reversal, beer to be sold at Memphis Tigers football games
Beer will flow this football season at University of Memphis home football games, the City of Memphis announced Monday in a move to reduce anticipated operating losses at Liberty Bowl Memorial Stadium.
The stadium — which the city recently spent $5 million to upgrade — was projected to lose $261,000 in general operating costs. Chief administrative officer Jack Sammons said the sale of beer would net the city $200,000, helping to reduce that deficit.
