ALL TOLD, PITINO STILL HALL OF A COACH

RICK Pitino might have seemed like one of the Teflon people, but he has taken his share of bullets, including the heartbreaking loss of his 1-year-old son Daniel in 1987 and the devastating death of his brother-in-law Billy Minardi, a 9-11 victim.
Professionally, Pitino, 56, also has been wounded. Despite the 1996 NCAA championship and dream jobs coaching the Knicks and Celtics, Pitino has now twice suffered the disappointment of not being inducted into the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame.
