Mississippi became home for USM’s Bower
HATTIESBURG — Jeff Bower transferred to Southern Miss in 1972 never imagining the school would play such an important part of his life.
“It was the best decision I ever made, leaving Georgia and coming here,” said Bower. “I never thought things would have happened like they did. We call this home.”
Bower rose from starting quarterback to 17 years as the Golden Eagles’ head coach to induction into the Mississippi Sports Hall of Fame.
