Wicker’s Latest Statement on Sotomayor
While not saying which way he will vote, Sen. Wicker gave his best indication yet (first statement, second statement) that he will vote against Sonia Sotomayor:
On Second Amendment rights, on the rights of the people to keep and bears arms, she is clearly out of the mainstream – not only of American thought, but of American judges in saying that it [the Second Amendment] probably doesn’t apply to states. And I think that is a real problem.
If Wicker does decide to oppose Sotomayor; will he oppose her during the cloture vote or just the final up-and-down vote?
