Tea partyers hope for NGA attention in Biloxi

This weekend there will be another rally against what some say are high taxes and an out-of-control federal government, and it will be held while elected officials from across the country are here for the National Governors Association meeting.

The Gulf Coast We Surround Them/912 Project is sponsoring “The Gulf Coast Freedom Rally and TEA Party,” which will be Saturday on the Biloxi Town Green.

Governors will be in Biloxi attending the NGA summer meeting, which runs Friday through Monday.

The organizers of TEA parties, which have been held all over the county this year, say they are upset about high taxes and they want the federal government more limited in its powers.

The group is based around conservative TV personality Glenn Beck’s 912 project.
