Sean Perkins quit his job to work for Johnson … hasn’t been hired yet

A local banker might become the next person to join Mayor Harvey Johnson Jr.’s new administration.

Sean Perkins said he left his job as a branch manager last week, but, “As of (Tuesday), I have not been offered a job,” he said.

Johnson spokesman Chris Mims said Tuesday that Perkins is under consideration for a job in the administration but would not name the job.

“Sean Perkins is certainly a very talented young man and we are looking at him, but he has not been offered a position as of yet,” Mims said.

Perkins, 34, had been a branch manager at Regions Bank in Jackson. Perkins expressed confidence that Johnson “will get the city back on track.”
