Former Hinds County District Attorney Ed Peters, who has been linked to a high-profile judicial bribery investigation, has been granted his request to be disbarred.
The Mississippi Supreme Court on Thursday agreed to Peters’ irrevocable resignation from the practice of law. In December, Peters petitioned for disbarment over an undisclosed complaint before the Mississippi Bar.
Peters was district attorney for 30 years before retiring in 2001.
The Bar said Peters was admitting guilt to a complaint. The Bar says such complaints are confidential.
