Tom Brokaw at Ole Miss today

Tom Brokaw, the former NBC anchor who covered civil rights as a jury
reporter for the network affiliate in Atlanta, will join a panel of
journalists for a discussion today at Ole Miss about the rewards and
difficulties of reporting the movement. The special program will feature
Gene Roberts and Hank Klibanoff, authors of the Pulitzer Prize-winning
book, “The Race Beat: The Press, the Civil Rights Struggle, and the
Awakening of a Nation.” The program which is free and open to the public
will begin at 5 p.m. in the Overby Center Auditorium, 1st floor of the
Overby Center. A reception will follow on second floor of the Overby
Center.
