That’s how many more people showed up Saturday for the A-Day Game in Bryant-Denny Stadium than for the A-Day Game in Jordan-Hare.
In short, a record crowd for an Auburn spring game was dwarfed by the second-largest crowd for an Alabama spring game.
Paul Bryant, leaning against that great goalpost in the sky, just looked over at Ralph Jordan and growled, ”Don’t your people take their football seriously down there?”
