Duke not interested in Paulus as quarterback; Michigan remains option
CLEMSON — Several pro and college teams are interested in Greg Paulus the quarterback. The list includes Michigan, where Paulus visited Tuesday. However, his own Blue Devils are not interested in his football services — at least regarding their quarterback position.
“We talked extensively,” Duke football coach David Cutcliffe said Wednesday. “But there was no way he was going to compete. He’s a great competitor … but it’s difficult to step into a pro-style offense.”
Duke returns a three-year starter at quarterback in Thaddeus Lewis. Cutcliffe has offered Paulus a tryout as a slot receiver.
