Head of the class

Head of the class

OXFORD — On one hand, there’s Cordera Eason, a 5-foot-10, 224-pound rising senior who was one of Mississippi’s top recruits back in 2006. On the other, there’s Enrique Davis, a 6-foot, 220-pound rising sophomore who was one of the nation’s No. 1-rated prep recruits one year ago.
So who’s the front-runner for the job as starting running back at Ole Miss for the 2009 season?
Actually, neither.
Instead, that honor goes to Brandon Bolden, a rising sophomore who was little more than an afterthought in the 2008 signing class. But these days, he’s the mixture of power and speed who has become the Rebels’ most reliable option.

“He’s having an excellent spring,” said UM running backs coach Derrick Nix. “He took last season and used it as a springboard. He’s quicker, he’s stronger and he’s come back with a little bit of an attitude.”
