Cochran To MEC: Limit Government’s Role In Economy
Mississippi’s senior U.S. senator said the federal government should look for “the least invasive options” to help the economy recover.
Sen. Thad Cochran spoke to more than 2,000 people Thursday during the annual meeting of the Mississippi Economic Council, the state chamber of commerce.
Cochran voted against a $787 billion economic recovery plan in February.
He is the top Republican on the Senate Appropriations Committee and has steered billions of dollars to Mississippi over the past decade.
