The DJ: Balducci admits he did wrong against Wilson

Former New Albany attorney Timothy Balducci may have been disbarred, but he’s still using his legal skills to represent himself from federal prison.

In late 2007, he admitted he conspired to bribe Circuit Judge Henry Lackey of Calhoun City, the event that launched the infamous Mississippi legal scandal involving then-famed Oxford attorney Richard “Dickie” Scruggs and others.

A few days ago, Balducci answered accusations in another judicial bribery case and admitted he had done everything he was accused of.

“Balducci admits the material allegations,” he said in a handwritten, two-page filing on lined paper. “And further, admits liability to plaintiff under all causes of action asserted therein.”

The former Oxford public defender wrote those words from a federal prison in South Carolina, which he entered March 25 to begin a 24-month sentence in the Lackey case.
