Mississippi State’s Dixon primed for one last run

Anthony Dixon’s only regret is that the 2009 season doesn’t start today.
He’s been through one spring workout with the new Mississippi State coaching staff and what he said was the most rigorous offseason conditioning program of his career.
The senior tailback has seen enough, though, to know that he’s ready and the team’s ready to put the Bulldogs back on the SEC map.
“The feeling around here is that we’ve got new life,” Dixon said. “We’ve got a new coaching staff, a new offense, a new attitude. Coach [Dan] Mullen said everybody was starting back to square one. That changed everybody’s attitude, because everybody was going to get a chance to show what they could do.”
For Dixon, it’s a chance to show what he can do in Mullen’s new spread offense.
He likes what he’s seen so far. The pace, according to Dixon, is blistering.

“You get in that no-huddle, and your head is spinning,” he said. “I know it can’t be easy on the defense. Everything is up-tempo.”
