Sources say Texas Tech’s Mike Leach on Auburn wish list
Might Auburn have said goodbye to one spread-offense guru just to say hello to another?
As the news of Tommy Tuberville’s ouster on the Plains began circulating on Wednesday, multiple media sources reported that overtures to people close to Texas Tech coach Mike Leach had been made to gauge his interest in Auburn.
Athletic director Jay Jacobs said Wednesday the search for a new coach would begin immediately. “We will move as quickly and efficiently as we possibly can, but we’re going to be thorough and strategic with our search to find the best fit for Auburn.”
