Tide feasts on Dogs’ blunders

Mississippi State’s bowl hopes officially ended Saturday with a 32-7 punting game-marred loss to No. 1-ranked Alabama that left three impressions.
First: Alabama will have to play MUCH better offensively than it did on this chilly night if it wants to beat Florida in the SEC Championship Game in December – or beat Auburn here in two weeks, for that matter.
Second: Does MSU ever practice punt coverage? The answer, obviously, is yes, but the coverage couldn’t have been much worse Saturday and it cost the Bulldogs dearly on a night when they played stellar defense for much of the game.
