Attorney General Jim Hood says there will be a second trial against former Washington County tax collector Patricia Lee.
The first trial ended Friday when a jury deadlocked on a verdict against Lee, who was arrested in December and charged with willfully making fraudulent statements and representations with the intent to defraud the government.
An indictment alleged Lee and her clerks would place car tag purchasers in a cheaper tax district, thereby providing a discount on car tags and reducing the tax revenue paid to the state.
