If AU job opens, here’s a great name

Those of you who tuned in Saturday to watch Texas Tech upset Texas saw the perfect candidate for the Auburn job, should Tommy Tuberville step down or get fired.

Not that I’m a big fan of trying to replace a coach before he’s gone. There’s always a chance Tuberville stays put and gets things turned around. There’s always a chance the AU brass realizes how important continuity is and decides against running Tommy out of town.

But there’s also a chance he won’t be back next season, and if that happens, Tech’s Mike Leach would be perfect for the job … provided the Tigers keep Paul Rhoads around to keep the defense in order.
