Title for Paterno would help Bowden in long run

The BCS poll is shaping up nicely for Bobby Bowden. If all goes as planned, he won’t have Joe Paterno to chase around any more.
Paterno is in position to go out on top, which is probably the only way he will go. The exit scenario couldn’t be much better for either Penn State or FSU.
The Nittany Lions win the national championship. Their coach retires to worldwide adulation. Bowden becomes the all-time winningest Division 1 coach next year.
It’s the near-perfect solution to the issue that has vexed both programs since the coaches were young men in their mid-70s. Only two things stand in the way:
