1. Some advice to fans watching today’s game between No. 1 Texas and No. 6 Oklahoma State: If host Texas falls behind, don’t turn the channel. You might miss something special. Four times in the past five meetings, Texas has gotten off to a slow start and been forced to rally for a win.
> 2004: Texas fell behind by 28 points in the first half and won 56-35.
> 2005: Texas trailed by 19 points at halftime and won 47-28.
> 2007: Texas trailed by 21 going into the fourth quarter (35-14) and won 38-35.
“Last year we just kind of hung in there for the whole game and things finally started to click at the end,” Texas quarterback Colt McCoy said. “That was a lot to overcome. We don’t want to do that again.”
McCoy, the Heisman front-runner, is the hottest quarterback on the planet. In seven games he has completed a staggering 81.2 percent of his passes (160 of 197) for 19 touchdowns and three interceptions.
