Former Melton Bodyguard Pleads Guilty
Marcus Wright, former bodyguard to Jackson Mayor Frank Melton, has changed his plea in federal court. Wright had pled guilty to misdemeanor conspiracy charges in connection with the destruction of a duplex on Ridgeway Street in 2006.
Wright has agreed to cooperate with the government in exchance for other charges being dropped.
Wright told the court that Frank had been drinking that night, and that he saw the mayor breaking windows in the duplex.
Wright also says he will resign from law enforcement.
