The city of Jackson is set to receive a $1.6 million grant from the U.S. Department of Transportation’s Federal Transit Administration.
The money will be used to acquire 10 vehicles, according to a news release from U.S. Rep. Bennie Thompson.
Five vehicles will be used for fixed route service and two will be used in JATRAN’s hand lift service.
