Entergy Mississippi on Thursday asked a federal court to block a “fishing expedition” into the company’s business practices by the Mississippi attorney general’s office.
Attorney General Jim Hood said Thursday night he knows Entergy is playing a shell game with energy and fuel costs to drive up its profits. His office last week issued civil investigative demands to Entergy asking for a range of information, some of which goes back 30 years.
The backdrop to this legal spat is a spike in Entergy bills for July and August. Entergy raised its fuel-cost adjustment at the end of June, pointing to the increased price of natural gas.
