The Ole Miss Rebels have lost one of their key defenders for up to eight months.
The school announced junior defensive end Greg Hardy underwent outpatient surgery on Monday to repair a stress fracture on his right foot. The surgery was peformed at the Oxford Surgery Center.
Hardy had 18.5 tackles for losses last season, including an SEC-team 10.5 sacks.
“It’s an unfortunate setback for Greg, but we’re glad the surgery went well, and he can begin his recovery,” Ole Miss coach Houston Nutt said.
