Snead, offense shine in first practice in pads

Jevan Snead had his best practice in an Ole Miss uniform Friday night, hitting an array of wide receivers on both intermediate routes and deep balls.
While Ole Miss coach Houston Nutt was thrilled with his sophomore quarterback, he said there were plenty of other unsung reasons Snead looked so good going against what is quickly becoming a battered Rebel defense.

“That group has really stepped forward,” Nutt said, referring to the Rebels’ offensive line. “(Tackle) John Jerry is really coming. He had a good day. (Tackle) Michael Oher had probably his best day. (Center) Daverin (Geralds) and (guard) Maurice Miller. (Guard) Darryl Harris has probably been our best guy so far. If you had to pick one guy so far today, he’d probably be the guy right now doing all the little things right.”
