LSU players report for new season
BATON ROUGE— Football fans just wait for the games. Football coaches and players have to do the work.
That begins at 9:30 Monday for defending national champion LSU, which reported to campus Sunday morning and braced for more than two dozen practices prior to its Aug. 30 season opener against Appalachian State at 4 p.m. in Tiger Stadium.
“What this next team has to understand is it’s not about the results, but the process,” LSU coach Les Miles said today after checking everyone in. “No outcome should outweigh the process.”
Miles appeared raring to go.
“It’s brand new,” he said. “It’s an exciting time for a coach.”
