Trip home gives Moreno break from frenzy
Knowshon Moreno zoomed onto the scene last season by piling up more yards than any Georgia freshman since Herschel Walker and endeared himself to fans with a high-energy style that included sprinting back to the huddle.
Not even Georgia’s star running back, though, has an unlimited supply of energy. With the much-anticipated 2008 season still months away, the much-in-demand Moreno appeared to be reaching the bottom of the barrel.
“There’s just so many things coming so fast,” said Georgia defensive line coach Rodney Garner, who recruited Moreno. “People are pulling him in a million different directions. He’s trying to accommodate everybody. He just needed some Knowshon time.”
After consulting with Moreno’s grandmother, among other people, the decision was made that Moreno could benefit from a couple of weeks back home in New Jersey in May.
