Former MSU assistant gets new baseball coaching job in Florida

STARKVILLE — Former Mississippi State assistant baseball coach Russ McNickle is the new head baseball coach at Division 2 Saint Leo University in Saint Leo, Fla., that school announced Monday.
McNickle was part of Ron Polk’s staff at MSU from 2002 through the season that was completed last month. He was not retained in the transition from Polk to new coach John Cohen, who was hired earlier this month.
