Giants waive backup quarterback Jared Lorenzen, four others
The Giants waived backup quarterback Jared Lorenzen and four other players Monday.
The defending Super Bowl champions cut first-year players WR Todd Lowber, long snapper Nick Leeson, DT Brian Soi and OL Jacobs Hobbs.
Lorenzen served as Eli Manning’s backup the last two seasons, but became expendable when the team signed former top overall pick David Carr. Carr, Anthony Wright and rookie Andre Woodson are the quarterbacks on the depth chart behind Manning.
