Subpoenas have been issued for suspended Hinds County Circuit Judge Bobby DeLaughter and former Hinds County District Attorney Ed Peters in an attempt to determine if Peters improperly influenced DeLaughter in a trade-secrets civil case that pits Eaton Aerospace against some of its former employees.
In a recent order, senior Hinds County Circuit Judge Swan Yerger said attorneys for the former employees could request information under penalty of perjury and issue requests for subpoenas of records from Peters, DeLaughter and attorney Mike Allred. Peters and Allred worked for Eaton.
“All of which are directed toward the inquiry to determine whether Ed Peters attempted to or did improperly influence any judicial officer and to determine whether any other person or entity participated in or had knowledge of any such efforts,” Yerger said in the order.
