DJ – Ballot issue bounces around state agencies
The ballot-name issue has been ping-ponging around the State Capitol complex for several days.
– Holland’s request was made Friday.
– Friday, the Secretary of State asked the Attorney General’s office for an opinion.
– Thursday, the A.G.’s office asked for a more narrowly focused request.
– Later Thursday, the SOS sent an amended letter.
So, it’s Friday – 11 days from the special election – and it isn’t clear what’s going to happen.
Wednesday, Holland threatened to take everybody to court to get his name off the ballot.
“I want a clean ballot,” Holland had said with emotion in his voice.
