Harper Calls for Party Unity, Sets Sights on Democrats
“You don’t hear much from Democrat’s on Iraq right now,” said Harper, “because the surge has worked.”
Harper congratulated the other Republican candidates for their well run campaigns and thanked his many supporters for their hard work. He congratulated them for the effort in helping transform his candidacy from that of a little known Republican to the party’s representative in the District 3 Congressional race.
“This has been about ‘we’, no me,” he said.
Harper said he hopes his candidacy as the Republican nominee will give him an audience with the President, and if that happens he is prepared to address a very key issue.
“The first thing I will say is that convicted Border Patrol Agents (Ignacio)Ramos and (Jose)Compean, who now sit in a federal prison in Mississippi, should be pardoned,” said Harper. “These guys were doing their job.”
