Work at the Gluckstadt interchange is scheduled to begin immediately instead of in 2014 as part of a deal reached this week that also allowed the Reunion Parkway interchange to proceed.
Central District Transportation Commissioner Dick Hall agreed to approve the environmental study for Reunion interchange, allowing the project to move forward to the Federal Highway Administration.
In exchange, an environmental impact study for Gluckstadt improvements will start right away, at least six years ahead of the prior timetable. Construction work at the interchange will begin in two to three years.
