O’Hara running for Senate

By: Magnolia Tribune - March 3, 2008

The Commercial Dispatch, 3/2/8

In 2007, a Hattiesburg resident, Shawn O’Hara, qualified to run for governor of Mississippi, lieutenant governor, attorney general, state treasurer, secretary of state, state auditor, insurance commissioner and six other positions.

The Mississippi Democratic Party only let him run for state treasurer, an election he lost.

But he’s back again, this time as a Democratic candidate for United States Senate.

O’Hara, 50, Thursday outlined his four priorities – lowering gas prices, stopping financial aid to foreign countries, equal pay for women and ending the influx of felony prisoners to Mississippi.
