Judge: indictment of Scruggs in judge bribery case stands
A federal judge has declined to dismiss an indictment in a judicial bribery case against powerful Mississippi plaintiffs attorney Richard “Dickie” Scruggs and two others.
U.S. District Judge Neal Biggers Jr. ruled Wednesday that there was enough evidence that Scruggs and the others participated in a scheme to bribe a sitting Mississippi judge for the case to go to trial.
