Attorney General Jim Hood says he will not appeal a Mississippi Supreme Court decision that an election to fill Trent Lott’s former Senate seat will coincide with the general election in November.
Hood’s comments came today (Thursday) — one day after the Supreme Court sided with Republican Governor Haley Barbour, who had set the special election for November 4th.
Hood, a Democrat, had challenged the date in a lawsuit.
