Developer looks to bring apartments to Farish Street

By: Magnolia Tribune - February 8, 2008

The Clarion-Ledger, 2/8/8

A new developer aims to work with city officials and community leaders in building a residential component to the downtrodden Farish Street Historic District.

Representatives of Minnesota-based Hope Development made a preliminary presentation Thursday before the Jackson Redevelopment Authority about a $65 million, mixed-use and mixed-income development at East Hamilton and Farish streets. The property is adjacent to Mississippi College’s law school and is not included in the Entertainment District being developed by Memphis-based Performa Real Estate Inc.
