The sheriff, circuit clerk and one supervisor in Wilkinson County will begin new terms this month, but because of a lingering primary election dispute, their long-term status is uncertain.
The Wilkinson County case is one of several election disputes involving 2007 statewide and county races. At least a dozen election challenges have been filed with the state Supreme Court.
Challenges in Hinds, Coahoma and Yazoo counties also have not been settled.
