GALLO – Uncovers Franks’ Criminal Defense of Crack Dealers

By: Magnolia Tribune - October 24, 2007

Lt. Gov. candidate Jamie Franks criticized Phil Bryant’s anti-crime proposals, stating that “He just doesn’t want to talk about the real issues…” In many Mississippi cities and communities, crime IS THE REAL ISSUE.

Paul Gallo on SuperTalk Mississippi has uncovered at least two cases in U.S. District Court where attorney Jamie Franks has successfully defended clients charged with serious drug violations. In one case getting his client off with assessments of $100 fine after being charged with a serious felony of “knowingly and intentionally distributing a mixture and substance containing cocaine base, crack cocaine, a Schedule 11 controlled substance, in violation of Title 21, United States Code, Section 841.”

The United States District Court documents state that the federal guideline for penalties of this nature could be up to 20 years in prison and up to a $1,000,000.00 fine or both and at least 3 years supervised release.

Stay tuned for this developing story. More on the Gallo Radio Show Thursday morning from 6 a.m. to 9 a.m.
