Whoever wins on Nov. 6, there are a few basic items that the next governor and Legislature should be able to agree when the 2008 session begins.
Obviously, there are going to be big fights. That’s the nature of the beast. The founding fathers did not establish this system to be non-confrontational; instead, it’s designed to move at a snail’s pace and to evoke dissension.
But there is room for agreement.
