Former Mississippi Gov. Ray Mabus on Saturday married Lynne Horecky, a nurse he has dated the past three years.
It was a relationship that almost never happened.
Mabus, a Democrat, was governor from January 1988 to January 1992. He was the U.S. ambassador to Saudi Arabia from 1994 to 1996.
