Republican Mayor Aaron Lott crossed party lines Thursday, publicly supporting Democratic gubernatorial candidate John Arthur Eaves Jr.
Lott said he endorsed Eaves because “I believe he’s a good Christian man who asks the hard questions that need to be asked.”
The way I see it, there are two major political parties, the independents and then the party all sides belong to – and that’s the Christian party,” Lott said. “I believe he (Eaves) is part of that party.”
